We seek a technical leader, product definer, and platform champion of SoC architectures used in mission and safety critical robotic applications. You will be comfortable negotiating specs with both customers and internal teams. Can operate effectively in a complex, highly cross‑functional environment.
 

This is a highly visible impact role for a technically exceptional SoC product solutions architect. Requires expertise across digital systems, industrial motion control, ethernet protocols, vision processing and analog mixed-signal integration. Cross-functional collaboration to define differentiated SoC architectures that power intelligent edge devices in factory automation, robotics, and precision control systems.

 

You will: Collaborate with strategic customers and partners … Define and drive SoC architecture … Stay ahead of emerging trends in robotics, industrial connectivity, edge compute, and cybersecurity to guide future roadmaps.

 

 

Title:  Lead Engineer - Principal Architect 

 

Location: Boston, MASS, USA. Hybrid on-site 3 days weekly. Citizens of the EU are welcome to apply for similar roles in the Ireland or Italy. Comprehensive relocation package available.

 

Compensation: Base salary ~$250,000+ DOE with significant upside that includes bonus and RSUs.

 

 

Skills and experience that will get our attention:

 

  • PhD/MS highly skilled in digital IC design and SoC architecture

  • Proven track record in commercializing complex SoCs.
  • EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and TSN field protocols.

  • Secure boot, trusted execution, and cryptographic accelerators. 
  • Modeling (MATLAB, SystemC), and simulation.
  • RTL design (Verilog/SystemVerilog)
  • Embedded security and secure firmware.
  • Analog-digital partitioning.
     
    Highly desirable:
  • Vision Processing Units architecture.
  • Tactile sensing systems, haptics, or robotic feedback.
  • Able to operate across industrial and automotive‑influenced requirements.
  • Safety and cybersecurity certification processes and tools.
  • System-level modeling and verification.
  • Motion Control & Functional Safety. IEC 61508, SIL2/3.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance. 
     
 
Familiarity with:
  • Vision Processing Units architecture
  • TensorFlow Federated, PySyft frameworks for federated learning protecting user privacy.
  • IEC 62443
  • EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
